Let’s learn something about implants<\/strong><\/p>\n

Implantology is the youngest branch of dentistry, and is based on clinical and laboratory research. Its main task is the osteointegration of implants and bone, which allows an artificial tooth to be “implanted” in parts of the edentulous jaw, which is later used to create functional and aesthetic prosthetic rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

When implants are implanted<\/p>\n

The first condition is that the patient is healthy, then the implants are implanted in a jaw that has a favorable anatomical structure for this, and the patient must have an impeccable level of hygiene (there is no caries with implants, but there is gum tissue around the implant, which can sometimes become inflamed due to insufficient hygiene).<\/p>\n

How is the implantation done<\/p>\n

The procedure is painless, and is performed under local anesthesia: A small surgical procedure, special equipment and instruments are used to “implant” part of the implant. After some time, when it is clear that the body is not rejecting the implant, its second part is inserted into the implanted implant, which is used to make a prosthetic extension, crown, bridge or prosthesis.<\/p>\n

There can be more than one implant in one jaw. Today, there are different types of implants, and each procedure requires complete surgical and implantological equipment, which increases the cost of the entire procedure. Special techniques allow, if the jaw is missing bone, to take autografts or implant artificial bone or implant a magnetic implant for total dentures. However, all techniques increase the cost of such oral rehabilitation, which is performed in a team with an oral surgeon.<\/p>\n

Implants can be inserted from the age of 16 onwards, depending on health.<\/p>\n

How to after implantation<\/p>\n

After the procedure, it is necessary to place ice packs on the operated area. Do not eat hot food immediately after the procedure. If bleeding occurs, contact your doctor. After seven days, the stitches are removed and oral hygiene is slowly started by massaging the gums, as explained to you by your doctor.<\/p>\n
