PREVENTION WITH EDUCATION – MODERN DIAGNOSTICS CONTEMPORARY MATERIALS AND TREATMENT METHODS

Healthy teeth all your life!

Protection of oral health

In more than 40 years of successful work with modern therapy, we have reduced the number of diseases, and these successes encourage us to offer you preventive check-ups with a new approach to oral health prevention. They are personalized, based on strategy and diagnostics, focused on therapy with the aim of implementing such procedures, and targeted therapy is set with the assumption that the teeth and periodontium remain capable of preventive procedures. Preventive treatments are popular in maintaining oral health with modern non-invasive procedures. Prevention of adults is based on the possible risk of caries and periodontitis, and not, as before, on repairing the damage that has already occurred.

Although caries and periodontitis are separate entities in medicine, today the inextricable link between general health and oral health is confirmed.

Patient education is a very important part of maintaining oral hygiene. Each person needs to develop individual oral hygiene measures according to their needs.

We pay special attention to pregnant women, young mothers, children, seniors and athletes.

Since our foundation, we have set up oral health prevention protocols that vary by age and gender, and treatment is based on each individual problem and on the diagnosis of disease risks, which are often, in addition to genetics, a reflection of lifestyle, bad habits and stress.

Many people take oral health for granted and only realize its value when it is no longer there.

A NEW APPROACH TO ORAL HEALTH PREVENTION

  • Preventive procedures and maintenance of dental health, professional teeth and gum cleaning
  • Dental sealing
  • Early diagnosis of oral tumors
  • Protection for athletes
  • Fluoridation of primary and permanent teeth
  • Therapy and counseling of parents in children with circular caries
  • Dietary instructions

Our approach to dental treatment is based on the cause of each individual problem and the diagnosis of disease risk, which, along with genetics, is often a reflection of lifestyle, bad habits and stress.

New paradigms in dentistry, individual approach and modern diagnostics, along with preventive controls, are a sure way to optimal oral health.

“Healthy teeth for life”

Dental check-ups include preventive as well as therapeutic procedures and individual education on how to take home measures to protect oral health, and if necessary, caries risk test, microbiological test for periodontal inflammation, saliva, caries diagnosis with a special device, digital X-ray, etc.

The dental team of the Ksaver Polyclinic works with its daily work to achieve oral health and its prevention in direct contact with the patient.

Systematic dental examination enables every patient to see the facts about his oral health, therapeutic options and preventive measures, just for him, which he can carry out to a large extent by himself at home, and transfer the acquired knowledge to the whole family.

There is no health with a diseased condition in the mouth. It has been proven that many diseases in the mouth are a very high risk for many systemic diseases, such as cardiovascular, pancreatic diseases, premature birth, etc.

Checkups for pregnant women and new mothers

Pregnant women need special care during pregnancy to keep their oral cavity healthy.

Due to increased hormone levels, the gums become sensitive and it is more difficult to maintain good hygiene, which favors the development of gingivitis.

Vomiting and changes in diet affect the pH of the oral cavity, which favors the development of caries!

It has been scientifically proven that untreated chronic gingivitis and periodontitis can lead to premature birth and reduced birth weight of the child.

The oral health control program during pregnancy aims to keep children healthy, without caries, with advice on proper nutrition.

Caries is contagious!

Caries is a contagious disease that a child becomes infected with, most often by “licking” a pacifier or spoon from the mouth of loved ones. It has been scientifically proven that the streptococcus mutans bacteria at the age of 2 years allows for the accurate prediction of caries at a later age with 94% accuracy, which can be linked to the mother’s oral health.

Caries is an infectious disease, which means it is caused by bacteria!

A child usually gets these cariogenic bacteria for the first time from those closest to them. Most often, when the mother licks a pacifier or spoon and gives it to the child, thus transferring the bacteria to the child’s clean mouth.

If you have “bad teeth”, it does not necessarily mean that your child will have them because “bad teeth” are not inherited!

Special approach to children

With regular examinations, we keep baby teeth healthy, which ensures that even permanent teeth sprout in a clean oral cavity, without caries.

Furthermore, we point out the consequences of the child’s inappropriate habits, if any, and indicate the need for orthodontic therapy.

Improper habits (thumb sucking or other objects, tongue thrusting, mouth breathing and improper swallowing) have a bad effect on growth and development and cause uneven teeth.

Fissure sealing

Fissure sealing is a preventive procedure whose purpose is to preserve a healthy permanent tooth and prevent caries from forming in the fissures and pits of the teeth.

When a child’s permanent teeth begin to erupt, i.e. at the age of 6-7 when the first permanent molar or “six” erupts, it is necessary to protect the newly grown tooth from the possible development of caries on the biting surface. Sealing is recommended for all teeth with a predisposition to caries. Sealing fissures is a preventive procedure, it does not involve grinding the teeth, so it is completely painless, which is perhaps the most important information for the little patient, and for the parent himself.

The sealing procedure is short-lived. It involves cleaning the tooth surface to remove all food debris from the tooth and prepare the tooth for sealing. Cleaning is performed using a brush placed on a rotary device and professional toothpaste. After all the paste residue is washed off, the tooth is dried and isolated with cotton wool. A liquid or gel for etching enamel is applied to the isolated tooth, which is then washed off, the tooth is dried and then the final phase is started, which is the placement of the sealing material and its lighting, which hardens the material.

This completes the fissure sealing procedure. A well-placed and regularly monitored seal provides long-term protection against tooth decay.

With a special, child-friendly approach, we provide the following services:

  • Diagnostics of the risk of caries disease
  • Detection of plaque on teeth with a lamp
  • Antimicrobial therapy
  • Remineralization of hard dental tissues
  • Determination of the defense capacity of saliva,
  • Preventive fissure sealing
  • Minimally invasive therapy – ozone therapy of incipient caries (without drilling)
  • Protective fillings of decayed teeth or treatment
  • Instructions on proper nutrition
  • Education on oral hygiene
  • Instructions on home prophylaxis
  • Gift relevator for hygiene control
  • Therapy of circular caries of milk teeth
  • Therapy of children’s teeth after falling out

Preventive examinations for adults

In women, changes in the oral mucosa are possible due to hormonal imbalances (puberty, menstrual symptoms, pregnancy, menopause). Changes in the mouth are also visible in bulimia and anorexia, and osteoporosis also occurs in the jawbone.

In men, we perform an illumination test for oral cancer.

Preventive examination programs for the elderly

Biological foundations change throughout life. Bones become porous due to osteoporosis, and the mucous membrane loses elasticity and becomes dry, and saliva becomes more sticky.

The stomatogenic system also changes with age, calcifications often occur in the teeth, and the shape of the teeth changes due to wear (abrasion), the pulp chamber recedes, and the enamel becomes brittle due to a decrease in the moisture content and organic part.

All of these conditions require special care to maintain oral hygiene and prevent caries infection.

The most common symptom:

•    Dry mouth

Due to many chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, when patients regularly receive medications that unfortunately have harmful effects on the oral mucosa, causing dryness of the mucosa, the pH of dental plaque changes, causing caries of the dental neck, which is a very common occurrence.
Due to dryness of the mucosa, existing dentures also “do not hold”.

We also highlight the following services:
•    Saliva diagnostics
•    Feothor control
•    Prosthetic work control
•    Instructions on oral hygiene due to reduced manual dexterity and vision
•    Nutrition instructions
•    Dental neck therapy

Preventive program for athletes

The risk of mouth and dental injuries is significantly increased in sports where impacts are directed at the mouth.

The role of a sports mouth guard is multiple:

  • protects teeth and oral tissues from direct injuries
  • absorbs blows to the head and face
  • reduces the severity of injuries to the neck
  • absorbs strong blows that could cause fainting and concussion!

Trust us to make your sports mouth guards.

Corporate systematic dental examination

Corporate systematic dental check-ups, as an indispensable supplement to a health check-up, have long been a practice in companies in Western countries and insurance companies.

The fast-paced lifestyle also affects health. Stress is a “trigger” for many systemic diseases whose symptoms in the oral cavity can indicate them.

The goal of prevention for the male and female population is to maintain oral health. Preventive therapeutic procedures in the office (professional cleaning of teeth and crowns, preventive periodontal therapy, tooth fluoride, if necessary, digital X-rays, diagnostics of the risk of oral cancer in men, diagnostics of caries, risk of periodontitis) and of course education for everyone, especially for women regarding menopause, and by following home measures to maintain acquired oral health according to our instructions, the whole family will benefit from what we have learned.

Oral health and sexually transmitted diseases

Does this picture give you a picture of a healthy man?

Infection down, infection up!

Today’s “epidemic” of sexually transmitted diseases is increasingly spreading to the oral mucosa. These are the most common viral and bacterial infections that are also present on the genitals. There are more of them every day!

There is a wide range of infectious agents (HIV, HPV, herpes and many others), but each of them has a common feature: they cause changes in the oral cavity.
With poor hygiene, conditions are created in the mouth that are an excellent breeding ground and a good substrate for microorganisms. The importance of timely education, regular visits to the dentist and professional teeth cleaning is clear.

Therefore, it is good to know how to pay attention to the entire oral cavity when brushing your teeth and to have any changes checked by your dentist.
